Fore & Away (“we,” “us”) helps you plan golf trips using AI. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We've kept it in plain English on purpose.
What We Collect
- Account info: your email address and a hashed password, via Supabase Auth. We never see or store your password in plain text.
- Trip details: whatever you type when planning a trip — destination, group size, dates, budget, and preferences.
- AI-generated itineraries: the day-by-day plans our AI (Caddie) generates based on your input.
- Booking click events: when you click an affiliate link, we log which platform (e.g., TeeOff, GolfNow, Vrbo), destination, and date. We never collect or store payment information — that happens entirely on the partner's site.
How We Use It
- To generate and save your trip itineraries
- To let you return to and edit past trips
- To track affiliate link clicks, which is how we earn revenue
- To improve the product and troubleshoot issues
We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Fore & Away:
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account and trip data are stored here.
- Anthropic (Claude API) — powers the AI that generates your itineraries. Your trip descriptions and preferences are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response; Anthropic processes this under its own API terms.
- Affiliate partners — TeeOff/GolfNow (tee times), Vrbo (lodging), Discover Cars (rentals), Viator (activities), and OpenTable (dining). When you click a booking link, you leave Fore & Away and interact directly with that platform, which has its own privacy policy. We only receive click data (platform, destination, date) — never anything you enter on their site.
We don't share your personal information with these partners beyond what's needed to operate the service, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Cookies
We use cookies for one purpose only: keeping you logged in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access the data we have on you
- Correct inaccurate trip details at any time by editing them in-app
- Delete your account and all associated data by emailing us — we'll confirm and remove it within a reasonable timeframe
- Export your trip itineraries if you'd like a copy before deleting
If you're in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/CCPA (access, portability, deletion, and non-discrimination for exercising these rights). Contact us and we'll honor these regardless of location.
Data Retention
We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and trip content from our systems, except where we're legally required to retain records.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
