The Away Game

GameDay in Provo

College GameDay is headed to Provo, Utah for the first time since 2009, and it's bringing the biggest game in BYU history with it: No. 3 Notre Dame (6-0) vs. No. 8 BYU (5-0), Saturday night under the lights at LaVell Edwards Stadium. First-ever top-ten matchup in Provo. Ever.

The game

Notre Dame is 6-0 and hasn't been tested in a close game all year. BYU is 5-0 and hosting the biggest home game the program has ever seen. The Irish are double-digit road favorites, and BYU will be without star running back LJ Martin — the 2025 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year — who's out with a lower-body injury. Undefeated underdog, at home, at night, with GameDay in town. This is the kind of game people talk about for decades.

Kickoff is 5:30 PM MT (7:30 ET) on ABC. GameDay airs live from campus 7–10 AM MT.

The golf

Here's the part that matters for us: Saturday's forecast is sunny, 70 degrees, zero percent chance of rain. That's not a sit-on-the-couch day. That's a play-18-in-the-morning, catch-kickoff-at-night day. And Utah County is quietly stacked — every course that matters here is public. No private-club gatekeeping, no member-guest required.

Thanksgiving Point Golf Club (Lehi) — the anchor. A Johnny Miller signature design, 7,714 yards across 200+ acres, rated Golf Digest's No. 1 public course in Utah. This is your Saturday morning tee time.

Timpanogos Golf Club (Provo) — the city-owned muni right in town. An 18-hole championship course plus a lighted 9-hole par-3 ("The Pasture") if you want an evening loop.

Hobble Creek Golf Course (Springville) — tucked into Hobble Creek Canyon. Tight, scenic, pure mountain golf.

Round it out with Links at Sleepy Ridge (Orem), Fox Hollow Golf Club (American Fork), and The Ranches Golf Club (Eagle Mountain) — three more public options within 30 minutes, including a true links-style layout at The Ranches.

The play

Saturday: morning tee time in 70-degree sunshine. Afternoon: campus, GameDay, the whole scene. Night: top-ten football under the lights. Sunday: sleep in, play one more, fly home.
