Sunday Night Football is coming to the capital. Eagles at Commanders, Northwest Stadium, 8:20 PM ET, under the lights. If you're looking for golf near Washington DC, a Sunday night game is the best kind of schedule, because it gives you a whole weekend of tee times before anybody asks you to find your seat. And the golf here has range: a links on the Potomac with the Washington Monument in the background, a muni built on an old prison site, and a $25 round on the Anacostia that's been open since 1939.
And the forecast is cooperating. Halloween Saturday looks dry with highs in the low 70s, and Sunday stays near 70 until a few showers roll in late. Enjoy it, because this might be the last real golf weekend of the year around here. The clocks fall back Saturday night, sunset slides to around 5 PM, and the after work nine is officially done until spring. One more warm weekend with the clubs. Take it.

Tailgate hours before Sunday night kickoff.
The game
Philadelphia visits Washington on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. Kickoff is 8:20 PM ET on NBC and Peacock.
It's an NFC East rematch of Week 1, when Philadelphia won 24 to 20 at Lincoln Financial Field. A lot has changed since then. Philadelphia lost Jalen Hurts for the season to blood clots, so Tanner McKee is under center, and Saquon Barkley is questionable. Washington comes in at 1-4-1, rested off its Week 7 bye after a 23 to 17 loss at San Francisco, and sits around a 4 point favorite. Two teams that expected more by November. Primetime anyway.
Best public golf courses near Washington, DC
Every course here is public. They're in order of how I'd build the weekend, starting with the one you'll talk about on the drive home.
East Potomac Golf Links (Washington, DC) is the anchor and the most DC round you can play. It sits on Hains Point, between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel, and the Blue Course plays 6,599 yards, par 72, with the Washington Monument watching your tee shots. Eighteen holes currently run $48 or less, and it's about 25 minutes from Northwest Stadium. One timing note: plans call for East Potomac to close in mid November for a remodel, so this weekend is one of the last chances to play it as it stands. Last call on a landmark.
Langston Golf Course (Washington, DC) is the historic muni, opened in 1939 on the Anacostia River at Kingman Island. It plays 6,652 yards, par 72, and has a Toptracer driving range for the warm up. Eighteen currently runs around $25, and it's about 25 minutes from the stadium. History and river views for about the price of lunch.
Enterprise Golf Course (Mitchellville, MD) is the closest round to the game, about 10 minutes from Northwest Stadium. It's a Prince George's County parks course, par 72 and up to 6,750 yards from the blue tees, with a driving range and a short game area. A weekend green fee is currently around $28. This is your Sunday morning round.
Lake Presidential Golf Club (Upper Marlboro, MD) is the championship test, about 20 minutes southeast of the stadium. It plays 7,230 yards, par 72, wrapped around the 30 acre Lake Presidential, and the 11,000 square foot clubhouse has The Perch Grille for the post round debrief. Online rates currently run around $55 to $69.
Laurel Hill Golf Club (Lorton, VA) is the best muni test in the area, about 35 minutes southwest of the stadium. It's a Bill Love design on the site of the former Lorton Reformatory: 7,102 yards, par 71, and it hosted the 2013 U.S. Amateur Public Links. Weekend rates are currently around $89 with a cart. Yes, it used to be a prison. The only thing locked up now is your three putt.
Westfields Golf Club (Clifton, VA) is the only Fred Couples Signature Course in Virginia, about 40 minutes west of the stadium. It plays 6,897 yards, par 71, and currently charges $99 on weekends and $79 on weekdays. If you're coming in Friday, this is a great place to start.

Fall golf on the Potomac, Monument in the distance.
The play
Friday: if you have the full weekend, get in early and play Laurel Hill. It's the best test in the area and it sets the bar.
Saturday: East Potomac. Low 70s, dry, Monument views, $48 or less, and a round you can brag about before the remodel shuts it down. Then dinner in the city and a reasonable bedtime. Reasonable.
Sunday: the clocks fall back overnight, so you get a free extra hour of sleep. Use it. Then play Enterprise in the morning, 10 minutes from the stadium, before the clouds and late day showers show up. You'll be done with hours to spare before the 8:20 PM kickoff, which means plenty of time for the tailgate. It's the same formula as our GameDay in Provo weekend: golf first, primetime football second.
Quick answers
What's the best golf course near Washington, DC?
East Potomac Golf Links (Washington, DC), for the full DC experience. It's a links on the Potomac with Washington Monument views for $48 or less, and the November 1 weekend is one of the last chances to play it before the mid November remodel closure. For the toughest test, Laurel Hill Golf Club is the pick.
Can I play golf and still make the 8:20 PM kickoff?
Easily. The game is Sunday night, so play East Potomac on Saturday, or play Enterprise Golf Course on Sunday morning, 10 minutes from Northwest Stadium, and you'll still make kickoff with hours to spare.
What will the weather be like on Sunday, November 1?
Right now Sunday looks like clouds building through the day with a high near 70°F and a slight chance of showers late, as a storm system moves in. Saturday is the better golf day: dry and in the low 70s. Night game temperatures drop into the 50s, so bring a layer and a rain shell for the fourth quarter.
Is this the last golf weekend of the year in DC?
It might be the last great one. Courses around Washington stay open through the winter, but daylight saving time ends on November 1, sunset moves to around 5 PM, and 70 degree days get rare fast. Add East Potomac closing in mid November for its remodel, and this is the weekend to go.
